Accuracy-Accuracy-Accuracy The Holy Grail of Electrolysis©

Author Kimberly Williams, R.E., Dean, Boston Electrolysis®, Scientific Writer©

Accuracy, Accuracy and Accuracy is the Holy Grail of a Boston Electrolysis© seasoned, educated, state licensed and registered electrologist. The three most important rules for a practicing electrologist are, Accuracy, Accuracy, and Accuracy with no if, ands, or butts; period. Too many electrologists boast that they can treat up to 1,000 hairs per hour. However, experience has taught me that depending on the area to be treated, a realistic average of 400 to 600 hairs per hour on the face is the norm for a seasoned licensed and registered electrologist who believes in accuracy first. My practice is limited to facial hair removal, including on patients with severe unwanted hair problems that stem from PCO, Endocrine and Inherited Disorders. Transgendered beard removals are my specialty.

Other electrologists copy my words and phrases; however, without one doubt, read it first at Boston Electrolysis® and Boston Electrolysis School online since 2000. Let there be no doubt about it: speed kills the electrologists ability to perform an accurate professional electrolysis treatment. Accuracy, Accuracy, Accuracy is the only way to practice electrolysis that results in quick, efficient, and permanent hair removal.

State Licensed and Registered electrologists laugh at non-licensed electrologists who use and articulate Buck Rogers Sci-Fi Gibberish to create long-winded fancy schmancy words likes Flash Electrolysis, Pico-Flash, Thermolysis Pico-Blend, Flash-Electrolysis and Electropulse. They are all scams. They encompass it with their long winded Sci-Fi Terminology and Gibberish with their overuse of the word Parameters. Uneducated non-licensed electrologists are emotionally handicapped and totally out of sync with reality because they actually believe that buying a white lab coat after taking their American Electrology Association Wonder Electrologists Course that does not test their Practical Application Ability, makes them a Certified Professional Electrologist!

Furthermore, the requirements to become a Certified Professional Electrologist do not necessitate a high school diploma, nor a communicable disease health check-up. The non-licensed Certified Professional Electrologist does not undergo a background check in any form or manner. Plus, the Certified Professional Electrologist examination itself was not meant to be used as a Carte Blanche certificate granting the individual a diploma of accreditation. At best, it’s a cruel hoax perpetrated on the public, and an insult to insure consumers who are unaware that there was no requisite Practical Examination Test to measure their actual skill. Many of the non-licensed electrologists claim they treat one thousand hairs per hour. They do this by deception; by increasing the current and lowering the timing to one tenth of a second which causes the computer to beep. Nonetheless, one tenth of electrolysis timing can fool the patients with a little tingling of each hair treated. One tenth of a second does not effectively treat the hair in any form or manner. Nonetheless, the non-licensed electrologist is claiming that your treatment is so comfortable because of their skill. For your information, you’re being ripped off, because the timing should be a minimum of one and quarter seconds to one and half seconds, with the intensity being set at three to five milliamperes.

This and other dubious certification courses cost a trifling $300.00, and anyone can become a Certified Professional Electrologist qualified by the American Electrology Association’s International Board of Electrologists Certification. However, in my opinion, the actual written examination with its multiple choice and true and false questions is at a third grade level. Plus, there is no testing in any form or manner for measuring the student’s Practical Application Examination Skill level. These tests were never designed as remedial educational upgrades for state-licensed and registered electrologists. However, somewhere along the line at the American Electrology Association, this discrepancy has been overlooked since 1979.

Add the numbers and the stats; do you really believe a 120 to 300 hour course with no requisite high school diploma qualifies you as Certified Professional Electrologist? No back-round check, no health check, and no examination for Practical Application Examination ability will result in you being a Certified Professional Electrologist? In today’s competitive market, non-licensed electrologists will cost state-licensed and registered electrologists and clients thousands of dollars in lost income because of their unskilled work. Plus, their unprofessional conduct hurts the reputation of honest state-licensed and registered electrologists who made the effort and sacrifice of going to an accredited electrolysis school. Licensed and registered electrologists obey the rules and regulations, while lazy non-licensed electrologists vote against legislating mandatory license and registration of all electrologists in Arizona, New York, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Pennsylvania, Minnesota,  N. Dakota, S. Dakota, and more.

Think about it when you are looking for a competent educated state-licensed and registered electrologist in Arizona, where we have no legislation to protect you, the consumer, because 99% of the uneducated non-licensed electrologists voted against the licensing of electrologists. Why did they vote against it? Because a state board would require you to be a high school graduate in good health, with no communicable diseases. In addition, you would have a minimum of 600 to 1000 hours of training, with a dual state board examination, and a two hour written and one hour practical examination.
